AAARS delegation paid an official visit to 64th Annual Congress of the French Institute of Chartered Accountants on 14-17 October, 2009. The Congress took place in the Nantes Congress Centre “Parc des Expositions de la Beaujoire” with 9000 participants from the profession and a big number of invited guests. The AAARS delegation consisted of: Professor Dragan Mikerevic, President of Board of Directors Professor Novak Kondic, Secretary General, and M.A. Dejan Mikerevic, President of the Committee for International Cooperation.
The AAARS delegation spent 5 days in their official visit. During the visit, the delegation discussed the international cooperation with both French and foreign delegations. The official meeting with the president and chief coordinator of the Direction for International Cooperation of the French institute was held in Nantes on October 15. The AAARS representatives laid the stress on supporting AAARS membership in international associations, especially the status of process of joining IFAC, bearing in mind that the French association had been appointed the main AAARS mentor for full IFAC membership process.
On the same day the AAARS delegation also had meetings with other organizations from Europe and the world. On the second day the delegation took an active part in discussions on accountancy and audit. During the plenary session and discussion on the code of ethics, the experiences were shared with French and other colleagues from other countries, and a special discussion took place with an IFAC representative. The AAARS delegation also talked to the Bulgarian and Albanian delegations as well as with the EFAA representatives.
