The representative of Association of Accountants and Auditors of Republic of Srpska took part in International Conference named Professional regulation and self-regulation: Experience, Reality, Prospects, organized by Georgian Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors (GFPAA). AAARS was represented by Dejan Mikerevic, the President of AAARS Committee for International Cooperation, who gave presentation named Professional regulation and self-regulation: experiences from Republic of Srpska and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The AAARS representative presented the Association and explained the legal framework of the accountancy and audit profession in Republic of Srpska and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Contacts have been established with institutions from Georgia (Gocha Goguadze – GFPAA Deputy Chairman and Temuri Partskhaladze), Turkey (Yildiz Ozturk – Research Center and International Affairs), Poland (Ryszard Gorycky – Chairman of the Main Auditing Committee and Maciej Fraczek – Deputy Manager), ACCA (Sundeep Takwani – Director of Regulation Department), Ketevan Lapachi (Faculty of Business Management and Social School Sciences, Tbilisi, Georgia), BDO Unicon
(Alexander I. Verenkov, Russia) etc. Important discussions were also made with World Bank representatives. Mr Mikerevic actively lobbied for AAARS admission to international associations, especially IFAC, for which he received an undivided support by all participants of the Conference.
